o’collection (2020)
timepiece about a way of looking at time

o’ in the project title implies o’clock, generally used to specify the hour in telling time. It is a contemporary timepiece that depicts the supple identity of the clock according to space and gaze.

When o’collection is placed on a flat surface, such as a desk, shelf, and the tip of the cone faces upward, it becomes a kinetic object that duly serves the cone shape. When users hang it on the wall and look straight into it, the perception of the hour hand and minute hand becomes clear and the clock reveals the time.

The o’collection, which crosses the boundary between interior object and art piece according to the user’s intention, perception, space and occasion, consists of three timepieces of different material and shape under the same concept.

co’co
The first project of o’collection is called co’co, named after its cone shape. Made of concrete and glass, and unlike ordinary clocks, the traces of hour hand and minute hand along the edge of the glass are three-dimensional.

gho’gho
The second project gho’gho, is a timepiece with  sublime simple finish in ceramics. The smooth nature of its material is given a light touch of contrast by the streamlined surface. The name gho’gho derives from a little quiet ghost covered with a cloth.

ro’ro
The third project ro’ro was designed while exploring metal 3D printing technology. It is a timepiece in spiral form, a formative language that can only be rendered with 3D printing technology while preserving the gloss and texture of metal cloud powder.
